Umm, not really sure what type of advice to give you except pick out items that both you and FH really want. I went registry shopping with my sister and she had in mind what items they needed. I didn't do my registry yet but if you need ideas, you can definitely ask the person at the store to help you. Good Luck.

Re: registry

Well, we did ours this weekend at BBB and we were told to put as many things as we could think of on ours. Of course it should be things that we like. It doesnt have to be things that we need right now but it should be things that we love. Like even though we have a toaster and stuff like that we put one on it anyway because we can always use an upgrade. Also if you have a wedding website and have the registry listed its good to have a lot of things on it because depending on how long the site is registered for people can always go to it after the wedding to get Christmas gifts for you and stuff like that.

I'm not good at registry advice..just put on what looks good. you can always edit it online later.

Macys also has a check list of what to get and how many of each.

Re: registry

I'd definitely recommend going onto consumer reports online and researching the high ticket items. I looked up the pots (non stick pots - Analon, and uncoated pots - Calphalon) and the knives (Henckels and Wustoff battled it out and got almost the same rating...Heckels one point higher and I like their incentive better!)

Re: registry

Don't go with the macy's brand (tools of the trade) - it will fall apart. Stick with calphalon, all-clad, analon (with cuisinart as a cheaper but decent option). I know they say non-stick surfaces are safe, but I don't believe it entirely, so I prefer regular stainless for the set of pots, and then pick up 2 nonstick skillets in 2 different sizes. Make sure you pick up the pots and make sure you like how it lifts - keeping in mind it will be HOT when you're lifting it. SOme are heavy or weighed oddly. Hope this helps!
