Registry Advice

Ok ladies...how bout' some registry advice?

I'll take ANY advice...it's a bit overwhelming! I feel that we were 'zapper' happy and so many were so expensive

My BM's approved of my list though...but little do they know we're not done

No one should 'approve' your registry!! Go for what you want!! But make sure there are things in all price ranges. If people don't want to buy the expensive things, they won't but you never know!!

Have fun with it!!

Think of the registry as your 'wish' list. Don't worry about the cost - you are not telling people they must buy you these items, you are just saying you would like to have them.

I think you should look at your list and just make sure you have a variety of prices for everyone to choose from. Some of our stuff is kind of expensive but we also have other stuff in teh $10-50 range for those who can afford the china, for example.

It is easy to get zapper happy, wait a week and then look at your registry again, you may realize that some of the stuff you put on, you dont even want (that happened to us, we were tired and just went a little nuts at teh end)

I say 'zap' away!! You can always go back to exchange your gifts for what you want...LOL I agree with Kelly9904..u should have a variety of prices.

Re: Registry Advice

I think of it as a wish list. if they don't want to buy my $100 china, they can buy the $30 cake cutting set, or the $20 set of glasses. Make sure you have all price ranges and go ahead. I agree with looking at it afterward. Just make sure you're registering for things you really want, things you really need and if you don't get them as gifts, plan to buy in the future. For example, my FH would love to register for a 42' plasma TV, or the super high tech coffeepot, or super hi-tech anything, really. I got things I really felt we needed. A few things I got in the higher price range, like the professional kitchen aid mixer, because i do a lot of cooking and baking and I need the extra power. On the other hand, we realized we'd registered for 3 coffee pots, so we pared that down a little bit. It's a wish list, you're not forcing them to buy you anything, just giving opportunities in various price ranges. And if you have a lot of stuff on your registry, or expensive stuff (my FMIL commented on my $100 china), just know that families usually WANT their loved ones to have the better things in life. My mom has no crystal, but encouraged me to register for it, because she wants me to have better than she had.

i think that you should include things of several price ranges so that people can find something in there budgets. its a wish list so pick some cool things and hope for the best

We went with what WE wanted in our home as a newleywed couple and to have till.... Even though my mother kept telling me you aren't going to get anything b/c alot of your stuff is $$. I DID get alot of stuff and surprisingly the bulk of the expensive items. Alot of people gave me $$ or gift certs. I used that to get the bigger items we needed.

My fiance and I went to Bed Bath and Beyond with both of my parents and chose what we eally needed and a few extras like a waffle maker, fondue set, and a wok. Other than that our registry is everything we need and we kept it in a reasonable price range for everyone. Our friends and families are not Rockefellars so we selected quality products for reasonable prices so it is fair to everyone.r

Re: Registry Advice

Some of your guests may want to split the cost of a more expensive item, so it's really no problem to have a few big ticket things on the list! Have fun!
