Shower invites only

ETA: I've received STDs with hotel info, which I think is a great idea, that way OOTs can start their planning.

i agree, if they want to get you a gift they might call your parents or FIL to ask where you are registered

Re: Registry cards?

I was actually talking with my mother about this the other day.

She has a lot of OOT guests that she knows will NOT be coming to the shower, and she actually is not even planning to invite them to the shower (her choice). So she wants me to put registry cards in the STD's for just those guests.

Since my mom will be footing the bill for most of my shower, and these are her sisters and family we're talking about, I'm going to let her make the decision on those.

But normally, I'd say only put registry cards in shower invites.

I would say shower cards only (because someone else is throwing you the shower, so they are allowed to share the info! You're not allowed to do it directly). BUT you can mention your wedding website on the STD if you have one, and then have a link on there to your registry.

Hmmm I'd say leave those for the Shower Invites. However, you can put your website with registry info on the STD!

I know the stores give them to you, but it is actually poor etiquette to include them in any invites. I know it feels like a catch-22. The appropriate thing is to have your wedding website on the STD and when they look at your website there's a Registry tab where they can look at your registry links. Also, your MOH, BMs and mom are supposed to tell ppl where you're registered when talking liaising with them over the bridal shower. Frustrating, I know, but that is what is supposed to be done...

I think you shouldn't include them with your STDs. You can put your website information on the STD and then have your registry information on that website. If people want to buy you engagement gifts they'll most definitely ask your parents, so prep your mom to tell those who ask where you're registered!

Put it in your bridal shower invites or create a wedding website, so the address can be put on your STD. Wedding websites normally have a registry tab and your guest will see this when they go to view the website.

Everyone's situation is different but IMO it's improper to put them in before the shower invite.
