registry gift etiquette

registry gift etiquette

edited w/more info...

FH's guy friend invited us to his wedding in may (this will be my first wedding in LI!!) I have never met teh bride, so I am sure i wont' be invited to the bridal shower.

In addition to the monetary gift (that we will give at the wedding) should we send a gift off their registry? if so, how far in advance?

i think people usuallllly give cash/check for the wedding itself
if you're going to do a registry present im not sure when to send it the week of the wedding maybe?

if you are invited to the shower then you should purchase an item off the registry as their gift.

for the wedding itself its more customary to give a monetary gift.

Ohh, I read the OP wrong. Though I'd still probably just give money.

Unless you or FH is good enough friends to be in the WP or something, I think the money is plenty.
