Registry help!... I'm so picky

Registry help!... I'm so picky

I'm inviting approx 65 ladies to my shower.

200 people to my wedding.

How much stuff should I register for? I'm so picky I'm having a really hard time finding enough stuff to register for.

I've gone to BB&B and Macys so far.

So I'm asking:

How much stuff do I need to register for?
What is an appropriate amount of places to register at? Is anything more than 2 places too much?

Thanks girls!

i invited 91 people to the shower... 70 showed... they say to register for 2 itmes per person invited... you basically want to give people options

It's fine to register at a 3rd store. If you're especially picky- that's all the more reason to register for more stuff!

the rule of thumb is to have twice as many gifts than you have guests... try to give your guests as much of a selection as possible, worse comes to worse you bring it back and eaxchange it for something else

I totally agree with everyone else..

Honestly your better off registering than underregistering.. because guess what.. if people don't have good options they will get you something you didn't want or need and you get stuck with it.

Also keep in mind, BBB doesn't like to advertise but you can return anything on your registry for CASH!

Also think about upgrading if you feel you already have a lot of stuff.

Have you considered setting up a honeymoon registry? Your guests will be able to buy you excursions, upgrades, etc for your HM (it's basically a cash gift since the registry sends you a check for that amount and you can use it however you'd like)

you can also register at Amazon or even Target so you have tons of options, not just 'house' stuff

def don't want to do a honeymoon registry... besides the fact my family thinks the idea is horrendous... my honeymoon is too expensive to let people pay for an excursion or anything. Plus we don't really want FH's parents knowing how much we are spending on the honeymoon (long story) but thanks for the suggestion.

thanks everyone.. besides bbb and macys where else do you think I should look that's in a similar price range?

register for what you need!!!! and what you dont get you can always use w/ gift cards and then at the end you can complete your registry and get some $ off.

You Macys regisrty should give you the info. I forgot exactly where on the site it is but you can enter the number of guests you are inviting and it will tell you how many items you need.

I think bbb and macys is enough...between the

two of them....they have EVERYTHING! but if you

are really looking for a third place..you could try

bloomingdales, kohls or target...I have heard of

people registering there!

Two items per guest is the general rule...however, if you're doing a wishing well...I think it's a great idea to have some additional small items on there...that way your wishing well items are from your registry too!

I invited about 130 ladies to my shower, and have 290 items on my registry. One person bought gifts already, and she bought three separate items.

it's not a matter of them having everything.

it's me liking the things they have. I'm very picky and didn't see a lot that I loved.

i had 67 people at my shower I was registered at Fortunoffs (before they closed & everyone got screwed - thank god we missed that) and BBB I had alot of stuff onboth bedding china everday sets crystal glasses vases serving trays reg glassware pots pans vaccum sheets towels for display & everday. Flatware for china & everday. We even put on a Margaritaville machine (which we got - so happy) also deep fryer & deli slicer & hand mixers. Dont forget cooking untensils & little things like cheese graters & peelers & measuring cups etc. So much stuff.

I think three places are ok to register. I say BBB & Williams Sonoma &/or Crate & Barrel. Good luck.
