Registry ideas for couple already living together?

We have no idea what to register for since we've already been living together for over 3 ideas. Any suggestions besides photo albums, dishes, towels? We have EVERYTHING that we need! Too bad we can't just register for $$$! That's what we really need!

We have most of the stuff we really need as well. I don't know if this is true for you but a lot our stuff is old and would soon need to be updated anyway...or we wouldnt mind newer ones. We tried to add that to the registry. Maybe we wont use them right away but eventually we will.

I agree, I tried to upgrade items that I already had. Or things that I don't use on a regular basis such as a roasting pan. :)

I think theres LOTS you can still register for. I know at first its hard to think of things. But remember that there are so many things out there that nobody has everything that is out there. There are tons of things that not every household has. Also there might be some must have items youve been wanting but havent bought. Here are some suggestions::

first i would also go with something basic such as comforters bc you can always use new ones. Plus sheets always come in handy

Do you have any of these things

a kitchenaid mixer, theres many who live together for a while but dont have one.

mini deep fryer

slow cooker

wine refrigerator or wine rack, also we had received a wine chiller you put on tables to keep the wine cold

China-i know alot of couples who live together but don't have one

new coffee maker-if there is a new one or one youve always wanted

glasses-do you have a set of everything. Maybe get martini glasses, new wine glasses, champagne glasses, we have those roly poly glasses where you put scotch or some drink you only put little in and when you put it on the table the glass starts spinning around. Beer glasses, or anything you might be missing. We also had registered for sake glasses, and also bar accessories

Also registered for ALOT of serving pieces. Had a 3 tier swivel buffet server that is great for parties

do you need new pots and pans? this might be your chance to get new expensive ones, if you dont have it

rice cooker

sandwich maker

icecream maker

electric knife

baking set, received a lot of cake pans, cupcake pans and huge basket with baking stuff

maybe a vacuum youve been wanting like the dyson

wok

roasting pan

toaster oven

hand mixer

quesadilla maker

crepe maker

fondue set

crockpot bbq pit

ionic breeze air cleaner

crate and barrel always has great serving pieces and accessories for homes

we registered for a few platters, and vases

runners for dining room table with new place mats and napkins

carafe's and different big glass bowls, centerpiece bowls, decanters

flyte plates

pizza oven

bamboo sushi board, noodle bowls with chopsticks and soy pots

hurricane candle long glass holders

if you go on the crate and barrel site, just go through the whole thing and you'll find lots of different types of serving sets and many pieces for the home. Even decorating stuff.

I've heard of people registering for people to help them with their honeymoon (I'm sure you could probably set something up maybe on a website?) and tell your guests that instead of a gift, you would appreciate help towards a great honeymoon and they can 'donate' whatever they want to the cause. Also, you could register for a big ticket item (new furniture, or a bedroom set) and suggest that many people chip in for it. FH and I will be living together before we get married, so we might ask people to give us money towards building a deck on our house instead of stuff for our kitchen (because we don't need anything for it). The people you're inviting should all be close to you so you should have no problem telling them exactly what you want!

yea you could totally try to register for your honeymoon. there are websites that do that. also, if you register with myregistry.com they have a 'cash gift' section as well. its a nicer way to register and ask for money too. there are sooo many things you can find to register for. you got a great list of stuff on here already haha you can even register for new video cameras and digital cameras of sheets and towels which you can never have too little of. oooo or really good pillows. my sister told me to do that! or china or a high quality set of cookware....there are soo many things just browse through department stores and come up with certain things you may need in the future

You can register at honeymoonwishes.com or honeyfund.com. It's a website where ppl contribute to your honeymoon. They buy you a gift from what you registered for and then they send the cash amt. to your bank or check (whichever you prefer). We did this and it was great. Received the payment in 2 - 3 days.

FH and I live together. We need a few things, so we'll register for those items, maybe a new dining room set. But mainly, we've decided to register for the Honeymoon through a local travel agent. It just makes sense. They set you up and anyone who contributes to this fund can buy you an excursion for your trip or just put a chunk of changes towards the whole thing. You get 100% of the gift from donors, if you book with that travel agency. Some places take a cut immediately and then when you book, so read the fine print.

We travel A LOT and everyone knows it. So, thats what we're doing.

DH and I lived together for 5 years so everything we had needed to be updated or was falling apart. So we just replaced old items

I agree with most of what has been said. FH and I are planning to register for all new stuff. We are hoping to move before teh wedding so we will store the new stuff at my parents house and be able to move in with all brand new stuff.

In addition to the honeymoon idea you can also register for new luggage to go with the honeymoon. I also know that you can register on Amazon and that might have some different kinds of stuff to choose from besides the normal kitchen stuff.

Besides just replacing our old stuff FH and I are using the registry for stuff we might not normally buy ourselves, like a nice knife set.

I am registered on travelersjoy.com which is a WONDERFUL website for the honeymoon. I highly, highly recommend it. Another couple we know did this registry and were very pleased as well.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions! I made a new post before reading everyone's responses to this first - sorry. What about a house down payment fund...ridiculous?

I say 'upgrade' the things you already have plus add some stuff that you wouldnt buy for yourself but always wanted

We have been living together for 5 years and have everything as well.

I registered for a honeymoon registry. I am figuring that most people will give us money, but for those people that feel they must put the money towards something they can get us something for the honeymoon (romantic dinner for two on the beach, etc).

We live together too but i found things that either i dont have or want a better one of but now that i am reading these posts i think i will keep the registry to a minimum and do a honeymoon registry. Thats a great idea.

and don't forget guest room accessories! DH's family all live out of state so I needed new linens and comforter for that space, even if you don't have a guest room yet, its an option!

You can register for a honeymoon but other than than, do you need fancy china? You could replace some of your old stuff or getter a higher end brand of certain things too. Register for temperpedic pillows at BBB too, they're fantastic.

You can register for higher quality items like better pots, knives, and bedding. I think it'll also be good to register for fancy china because you would probably never buy them for yourself.

Or you can do what my friend's friend did... She and her husband registered for fancy china, got almost all of it and they returned it for money and bought their bedroom set.
