Much of my running around lately has consisted of reregistering for things that get discontinued. It's a bummer to, because I loved them.

I've heard it happens a lot, especially with Macy's. My mom ordered a bread bin that I really wanted, and it got 'backordered' until a few weeks after the shower. Then, a week after the shower, it was backordered until October or November. Which is ridiculous. So my mom asked me what I wanted to do. I found it online, for less money, and in a color I liked better! (Didn't know it came in that color, it wasn't avaible at the registry place.) So it's actually working out better. But I've had other things discontinued.
I guess the way to avoid it is to not register that early, or if you do, for engagement presents or something, to go back and do it again around the time you think your shower is getting close.

Yep I hear ya. A bunch of accessories got discontinued from my china pattern like a serving dish, a sauce boat, and the coffee pot. It's soo annyong!
