I had peeked at my registry list and noticed my china dishes were fulfilled. However, I registered for 12, and the total bought were 18. Then for the soup bowls, I registered for 12, and the total bought were 14.
The place had recommended registering for 8, but mentioned doing the extra 4 in case of breakage, etc. So I had already taken into account registering for more than really needed.
What am I going to do with 18 china dishes? I know a few weeks ago 8 pieces of the dishes were bought. So who went and bought 10 more???
Is it just me, or is it strange that someone would spend so much buying me more items than I registered for? Meanwhile, I still need my everyday dishes, and none of those have been bought.
What do you do if someone buys more items on your registry than needed? Just return them? Do you get store credit or the cash?

i wish i had too many settings of my china. it's the only thing people didn't buy!! lol...
i got too many towels. i thought the same thing. didn't people see the amount was already fulfilled!? oh well...mine was from BB&B. I brought the extra towels, some with gift receipts, and returned them. they gave me the choice of a gift card with the credit put on it or cash. i took the credit b/c i have more things to buy there. they didn't give me a problem with it either.

Yes, it will work out...dont worry about that. Just exchange. Remember your not supposed to know..........

You should be able to say that you got it as a registry gift and they will let you exchange it. I think most stores (at least from what I've seen so far) are pretty understanding as it is a gift and they know it's not the kind of thing you can control. As long as they get the money some how. Haha.

You can simply exchange any of the extra settings and use the credit toward other items. I received all 12 and then we get 4 more from Sandals that happen to be our pattern !! I am going to keep all 16 so most people will have a setting for family dinners.

maybe the person who finished your china set bought some for themselves? It will appear on your registry if they checked out all the items together.

Haha that'd be funny if someone bought some for themselves, and then they come to my house with it when I do dinners - bring your own china, haha!

another thing that may have happened is that two people purchased the same items at the same time, so neither realized that you would get doubles.
