registry mess up- RP from 06

Hey girlies-
so I registered at filene's so it would be easy for my family upstate. my aunt came over today and gave us our engagement party gift early- the 10 piece emerilware set which is awesome. BUT my aunt was telling me that she almost got in an argument with my uncle's b$@#^y wife who ALSO BOUGHT THE SET OFF MY REGISTRY

so now do I have my mom call my uncle's wife and tell her sorry it was filene's mistake, or do I call filenes and tell them to fix it?or what?

Did your aunt buy you the gift off of the registry from filene's or did she just know that you had it on the registry and bought it for you from another store? If the latter is the case, it is not Filene's fault that it was still on your registry since it was not purchased there. As for your other family member who purchased the same gift for you as your aunt, she now knows that you already received the present from some one else, so if she does not exchange it for something else, then I would do it upon receipt. I would thank both gift givers for their generous presents and call it a day. Neither one needs to know that you exchanged one set for something else and both can assume that you kept their gift. If on the other hand, Filene's messed up then by all means call them up and let them know about it since you don't want this type of thing to occur in the future. Hugs. Lisa
