We had a house fire a year ago, and our entire condo burnt to the ground. We had insurance thank god, and we went out and bought ALL NEW STUFF. Everything you can imagine. So I'm trying to do our registry, and we don't have much to put on there, some little gadgets, and sheets, and comforters. Is this ok? My friend, thinks it's not enough, but we have everthing.. What do you all think? SHould we add more, or do you think that we are doing the right thing, and registering for just what we need?

Re: Registry question???!!!???!!
Register for MORE stuff than you need, and go to a plcace with a good return policy.... Like I heard BBB gives CASH back.... so that is always someting to look into....
But also, register for some picture frmes/vases, b/c some people are SET on giving those items (althought peronslly i wanted my vaccum and Iron more than the pic frames we received!... i'm all about pracicality)... so at least you will get frmes/vases YOU like if you register for them!

Register for more or you can do what my friend did and put your travel agent on your registry. My friend wound up getting around $500 towards their honeymoon. She used Liberty Travel-dont know if they all do that. Luggage is another great idea or like an outside patio set. Thats what we need anyway!!

yes definitly china and nice glasses! even the stuff you dont think you need or will use any time soon.... one day the time will come when you want it and why should you have to go out and buy it then?? get an extra set of towels, even appliances you maybe skimped on a little.. upgrade and donate the other stuff to a broke friend who can use it! or register for stuff you would love but wouldnt ever spend the $$ on ( for us a really nice expresso maker, and mostly fun gadgets for the kithen!)

I don;t think its a big deal to register for exctra if you do not feel you have to. We got overwhelmed in registering, and more than half of the stuff was not bought...and what was bought that was not on the registry, was exciting to open!!! We did not gert any frames or vases...thank god!
Or, you might wanna register at Target...you can register for any electronics there as well...so if you want a new stereo, alarm clock, phone, etc....thats definitely the place to go!

get plenty of extra sheets, towels, tablecloths. holiday china? Definitely register for your honeymoon, several places do this. And I think it's weddingchannel.com where you can make a registry for anything. They cna get you a ift card in certain increments toward anything you specify. What we might do is register for $1000 to renew our Disney Annual Passes for our HM. You can also do furniture, car, anything big, because people can give you $50 or $100 towards that. Don't put on stuff you totally don't want or need, but take the time to think of things you will want extras of. Or something unique that you don't need, but want, like an espresso machine or a bread maker or something!

i agree with picking things you wont need immediately. i didnt pick lines or bedding because i didnt know when i would need and now i wish i did.

Re: Registry question???!!!???!!
i thought it was cheesy but a friend of my mother's registered for best buy gift cards..it turned out to be great because she was able to buy all the electronics she wanted but couldn't afford..i'm going through the same thing because fh and i already have all the appliances and things..we're going to wait to register until january and that way we don't feel bad getting newer stuff because everything will be a year old by then..whatever you do, make sure you have plenty on there because you don't want to wind up with useless stuff..it will just clutter the place..good luck

I feel the same way becaue we both have been living on our own for so long...we have two of everything. BBB has a cash return policy. We have already used it

Re: Registry question???!!!???!!
We've owned a home for 3 years and didn't need too much, so we did a honeymoon registry and a smaller BBB registry.
We thought some people may be turned off from the honeymoon registry, so we put the traditional registry together for them, but everyone thought the honeymoon registry was so cool and we got a lot from it!!
It may be a nice add on to your current registry.

What about tools for FH? Or how about bigger gifts that people might want to go in together on (check with family first) like a BBQ, camcorder, digital cam, computer, furniture?

Re: Registry question???!!!???!!
I would register at Pfatzcraft for all holiday dishes and stuff like that, and also register at BBB because they will return stuff for you as long as it is on your registry for cash.

Re: Registry question???!!!???!!
Try to do a honemoon registry. People can help pay for your trip or they can just do add-ons like a gift certificate to a restaurant, massages, snorkeling, etc...
