registry question

DISLCAIMER: i know everyone is different and am not knocking this. just looking for feedback



so i was talking to my fbl's gf and she is in a wedding in june. the couple lives in IL. they are registered at a few places. so she was saying they have a few not ordinary items on their registries. so i jsut checked.

they have 4 board games - monolopy, scrabble, clue and another. and a washer and dryer. ummm, is it just me? they have the typical sheets, towels and whathaveyou. but also a clorox toilet wand...weird to me.

thoughts?

I don't think it's odd. But it may just be me. We registered at Target (only..we are still concidering Bed,Bath and Beyond) . We registered for everything and anything...right down to cleaning supplies. We also registered for camping things because we enjoy camping. (Tent, small grill, lantern, air bed etc.) We also registered for all the kitchen supplies and bathroom things. We already live together and have for 10 months. We live in OUR house...so there is not a lot we NEED...just lots of wants. Some people like giving different gifts...things people wouldn't normally be giving. To each there own!

Why is that weird?
I think it's totally normal actually.
Maybe they like board games.

Hi! I'm an 07er whose crashing. But my friend just registered for her wedding last month and although she did not put board games, she did put weird little things like, 'toothpaste squeezer'. I went back with her to add stuff on and her mindset was just to zap the things if they looked cute. If she gets them, she gets them. If not, she won't be upset. So maybe that was their line of thought. I don't know though!

I totally agree. My FH & I have been living together for over a year now and I registered for certain kitchen items and bathroom accessories cause I want new ones. I don't need them, I just want new.

i just found it odd thats all - i mean, imo, i'd rather have the things i know i need before i put items on their like boards games....

i honestly find it odd, not because i'm knocking it, but only because i've never heard of it before! but hey, every little bit helps! gives ppl more options of things to get you--useful or fun!

I think it's odd too....JMO.

It's like I hate when a baby registry has baby wipes on it. If you can't afford to buy your own baby wipes, then you should not be having a baby! I know, I know - it's not that you can't afford it...to me it's just silly to put such small things on a registry.

That doesn't seem odd to me. My cousin's got married 2 years ago and they registered for camping gear because they had received all of her china, etc through her deceased grandmother.
