Registry question

Are there any registries where you can find for example an expensive gift like a camera and people can put money towards it instead of buying the whole thing???

http://www.weddinggreen.com/registry/how_we_work

this is one idea, and it lists a few sites that are competitors that might be worth checking out... or you could go to stores and ask if any of them do this or allow this,....
