Re: registry question...

I will put everything on my registry. While I didn't skimp on anything for our apartment, I plan on going very high quality on things I'll put on the registry. The way I figure is that eventually we'll have a house and I'll want all new things for it.

Me and FH live together so what we are going to do is to put better appliance like a better baken oven, a good vaccum and you can also make a honeymoon registra. I am not planning to put a lot of crazy stuff that I dont have the place to store because I live in a small apartment and my parent dont live in the island that I could used to store stuff.

I would definately put things on there that you will use for a house when you get one. Also you can put extra bedding, nice china, seasonal stuff, if you dont have that, etc.... Go through there stuff online and see if there are things that you just want or you didnt think of.
Sorry its late and I am tired.

Re: registry question...

you should look at one of those registry checklists. i thought we wouldn't need things for the same reason, but i chose household items for the registry that are more high quality so i know they'll last a long time--things we wouldn't have bought for ourselves. we also added things like candlesticks, vases, china (which gets to be a lot with the full # of place settings and all the accessories), crystal stemware, good flatware, etc.

if you really sit down and take a look at what you have, what needs replacing, and what you'll WANT TO HAVE in, say, 5-10 years, i'll think it becomes easy enough to put one together.

Im in the same situation, and My cousins who just got married told me that you should register for stuff you need for the wedding, like your toasting flutes and such.

Im not registering for too too much, because i really want cash.. We are planning on using it on the down payment for house number 2

FH and have lived together for years....I registered for everything to upgrade our stuff....we don't have the best pots and pans and knives and stuff like that so we really did register as if we had nothing because our stuff is need of being replaced!

If you have everything you should start a HONEYMOON registry.

Aww that's great nana is a wonderful lady.
I love the idea of upgrading a few things, but here is another idea how about a house fund (like a shower/ new home CD). It's like a home registry that you will gain interest on.

I have a lot too since we live together already. But I need another set of bedding, sheets, and some upgrades! I feel that I didn't buy the best so now I would like to register for some quality things. Also, those things off my registry will have some meaning and remembrance of this time!

I'm running into the same problem. I've furnished two apartments and I'm a serious cook, so I'm going to register for 'fun' stuff like an ice cream maker and stuff like that. We're also going to register at Lowe's for big items like a grill, snow blower, lawnmower...all those things that you have no need for when you have a studio apartment in the city, but need for a house in the suburbs.
