Registry Question

How tacky do you think it is to put a card in with your invitations to say where you are registered? And what about somewhere on or with the engagement party invitations?

on a similar and funny note:

CUTE CARTOON!! I don't think it is tacky at all to put your registry info in your invitations. We got lil cards from the places we registered (Macy's & Kohl's) that are small enough to fit in invitations. I am gonna put ours in our save the dates and shower invitations. I think people need to know where you are registered ya know?? JMO

I agree, and I don't want to do a wedding website. I spent 4 hours doing that gift registry, I would actually like to get something on there! Haha.

As far as proper ettiquette goes, you are not supposed to include registry cards in invitations for parties you are throwing for yourself. They are included in shower invitations since you are not the one throwing the party. I think word of mouth communication for gift giving for the engagement party and wedding is what you should rely on.

I don't care if it's not proper etiquette, I seem to remember lots of people including it in the weddings that I've gone to throughout the years.

I think I'm going to include cards in my wedding invitations and then for my e-party I'm going to write it on the invitation. We're having a really informal BBQ in my parents back yard. Pool=built in entertainment. So for our invitations we're printing them out with paper from Staples. I don't think it'll be that big of a deal to put it in fine print at the bottom.

*Warning, attending this party may cause nausea, rashes, headaches, and death. The couple is registered at Crate and Barrel.

This is what I've heard too.

I don't think it is tacky although a lot of people hounded me about a similar post because they felt you shouldn't put registry cards in your e-party invites. I did because FH live together and so many people were asking us where we registered so we figured to save ourselves the time returning things we put them in. I think it gives your guests options to get you money or gifts.

Ive never seen registration cards in a e-party invite, only in a bridal shower invite. for the e-parties its cash given...but i dont think its tacky at all to have the cards in invites.

I did not put registry cards in my EParty invites. I think that cheapens them especially when you spend so much to have them made up. However, I had People ask our parents or friends & even us if we registered. So maybe it wouldnt be so bad for that but NOT for your wedding invites NO WAY.

Re: Registry Question

I was told not to. If you do decide to do a wedding webste (weddingchannel- isnt really a pin) you put the website on your engagement invitation. It will give everyone the places that your registered. They also donate to a charity of your choice evrytime someone buys. My sister didnt include where she was registered and her registry got cleaned out by word of mouth.

i aqm ok with registry info in shower invites especially if being thrown for the bride. i for one want to buy a bride what she wants, stay within her pattern, color scheme, etc.

Re: Registry Question

I dont think they should go in with invitatitions to anything. Where you are registered should be word of mouth. I think these days most people are going to either give you money or ask someone where you are registered. JMO
