So if I'm registering at 2 place - williams sonoma and bed bath and beyond
does it make sense to put all the bed and bath stuff on bed bath and beyond and all the cooking stuff on williams sonoma? I'm worried if I don't put the stuff i really want on the bed bath one I might not get because most people do bed bath and beyond = is this is a stupid concern??

Re: REGISTRY QUESTION
I registered at BBB, Crate and Barrel, and Macys. I put most of my baking stuff on Crate and Barrel just because I liked it better, and ended up with NO baking stuff. I was very surprised but whatever thats what gift cards and completion bonus are for.

Re: REGISTRY QUESTION
no, that's not a stupid concern at all. Honestly, I was worried about my registered items as well. A lot of the stuff I wanted could only be be found on the website and were not actually sold at the store itself. I was nervous about that so I tried to keep everything 'in store' as much as I could.
And out of the 50 or so guests I had at my shower, only a few actually got me something off of my registry. That was most irritating because it left me & dh with a LOT we needed to buy. And it was so annoying having to run everywhere to exchange items. Ugh. And one excuse I heard from quite a few people was 'The thing I wanted to buy you wasn't in the store. It was online only!' EXACTLY what I was worried about. Which I still don't understand. Is it really THAT hard to order online? I do it all the time. My guess is that all of these people were waiting until the last minute, leaving them with no time at all to order and wait for delivery Nice.
So if i were you, I'd spread the gifts between both stores (meaning bedding AND cooking at each place) so that you're not risking only getting one type of gift. That's MY advice at least. HTH.

Re: REGISTRY QUESTION
Yea, I noticed that many people were buying things from BBB off my registry, so I decided to remove items from Crate and Barrel that BBB sold as well...just because BBB is more convenient for most people.

Re: REGISTRY QUESTION
I have majority of my items on BBB. I only have bedding on Macy's and a few odds and ends that BBB doesn't have, and I have all my snobby gourmet things on Williams-Sonoma, and I'm not expecting a thing from that one lol. Honestly, I'm not even expecting my bedding, mainly because it is going to be discontinued by time my shower invites go out, but I just don't think anyone is going to go to Macy's or Williams.

Register for what you want at what store you want. There are different things at different stores.

Re: REGISTRY QUESTION
I registered mostly at BBB, but I found that certain pieces of my china pattern were only sold at Macy's so those got put on there, as well as other items BBB didn't have. Also, William Sonoma has the 'expensive' cooking stuff we would like that isn't at BBB or Macy's.
My opinion is to register for what you want. If there is the same item in 2 stores pick the one you like best, if they are exact, i would register for the cheaper one. You never know where people will go to shop for you so I would split things between both places.

Re: REGISTRY QUESTION
I didn't get any glasses or silverware because I registered for them at Crate and Barrell. Most people went to BBB it's cheaper and more convenient to all.

Re: REGISTRY QUESTION
I found that BBB and WS had most of the same things. Why don't you do a different store like Macy's or Bloomingdales to pick the higher end gift items that BBB and WS don't carry?
