FMIL asked FH if I was going to make a special registry for her that no one else will know about so she would have a lot of stuff to choose from.
He told her that it would be better to pay for a night in the Grand Floridian as a shower gift instead. (we are going to Disney for part of our HM and my mom already agreed to pay for 1 night for us)
FMIL said she would rather buy us something material so that we would always remember what she gave us as a gift. FH and I already have an apartment, which means I don't need many things to begin with. I also have a nice luggage set which I bought for myself last year. I already have the fine china - my mom is giving me the china my dad bought for her from Germany.
is it crazy that FMIL wants her own special registry from me? and is it wrong of me to say that I'm not going to create a special one for her?
ugh, i just don't know.
thanks girls.

Re: Registry question
It is a little crazy... I understand that she wants to buy you something material, but if you don't have anything you need then what good is it? Tell her to wait it out until you guys need something tangible.

Re: Registry question
Um, that's nuts. But do you have a regular registry for other people to buy off of?

Re: Registry question
Why cant she just be like the first one to buy off your reg then if she wants more choices i dont exactly get what she wants... making a personal reg just for her is rediculous!

Re: Registry question
Tell her your registry info as soon as you register so she can get you guys something before everyone else. That way she'll have the biggest selection which will be just like having her own registry (but she'll have to move fast!).

Re: Registry question
I think it's really nice actually, and once she picks what she wants you can add it to someplace else. ORRR what makes more sense actually is to tell her to just take a crack at your registries now before other people do!
