Registry question...

Registry question...

If I purchased something off of a registry at Bed, Bath & Beyond and I return it, will they put it back on the registry?

Yes but be sure to let them know it came off a registry or they may think it was a regular purchase.

No! That's what I want! I don't want them to put it back on the registry.

Do you think this is bad? My friend registered for knives (with out knowing, she registered for the brand that Kevin manufactured.) She didn't register for 'good' knives, so we were going to give them a better set. Here's the problem, it obviously won't have a gift receipt and even if she tried to return it w/o a receipt, it would be a custom set so a store wouldn't accept them.

So, do I give them the better set that would retail at $300+ or the set they registered for which is $60?

So then return them as a reg. purchase. don't say they were from a registry & double check by asking is all.

I'd give them the better set I bet if the registered for $60 knives, they would love the better set!!

I agree with Jennbaby -
and I have to add -- are your FH's as obsessed about knives as mine is?!? I SWEAR we spent an hour in the knife department at Fortunoff's!

Call them and tell them you forgot to tell the cashier to take it off her registry

Lea,
I can't go to a restaurant without my FH flipping over the plate to see who manufactured it. Same with flatware & cutlery. He's always checking out the stamp. (I've caught the 'bug' as well. )

Re: Registry question...

Stacey,
I purchased them already so that they would come off the registry. (Her shower is in a few weeks and things are flying off.) I didn't know if they would remove the item of the registry is I just asked, so I figured better safe than sorry.

That's why I wanted to make sure they wouldn't put it back on the reg. when I return the item.

Return them, and if they do put them back on the registry, you can can call BB&B, and tell them that you purchased the item, but forgot to have it removed from the registry.
I've done that with macys, sometimes you can get a free soup bowl with a place setting at fortunoff. If the person I'm buying the gift for is registered for the same pattern at Macy's, I buy it at fortunoff, get the free soup bowl, and call macy's and tell them to remove it. Sounds tacky but, I always tell my friends what I do, so they can do the same thing in the future.
