FH and I live together but we are replacing a lot of the stuff in our apartment that were hand me downs. I was wondering how many things are on your registry and if you live with fh or not? We have almost 200 things (after taking some things off) and i feel like that is a lot. I just wanted to see what everyone else is like. TIA

Re: Registry Question
We lived with each other. Registry was about 150 items. For me it was a lot.

Re: Registry Question
We lived together for a while before FH went to grad school. I love to cook and have good quality kitchen items. We only registered for about 50 items, and then did a Honeymoon Registry.
They say you should have more items on your registry than people attending your shower- I would think that 150-200 (including place settings, etc) is reasonable.
People are annoyed with us that we DIDN'T register for more stuff (in reality, we need to get rid of stuff- not add more to the collection!). The more options you give people in a variety of price ranges, the happier they will be when trying to shop from your registry!

Re: Registry Question
We have a lot on our registry but also figured there are some holidays/birthdays before the wedding and family wants to help us 'build' our home...
The registry should be long enough so people who want to buy you a gift have enough to choose from, but also have varying gifts for different price points.
We had a mini-farewell/engagement party for friends/collegues before I moved out of the area, and even though we weren't expecting any gifts, a few people bought us some of the small items off the registry so it really came in handy to have a little of everything.

Re: Registry Question
I don't live with my FH, but he doesn't even want a registry. He wants nothing on the list, yet... I think we have 192 items on our registry, but we really need to add more when it gets closer to house shopping. You should definitely put whatever you want on there. The people who want to buy off your registry will and the people who don't want to just won't.

Re: Registry Question
we had alot of things...but it works because you give your guests options. everyone was thankful because even last minute shoppers had plenty of selection

Re: Registry Question
The rule of thumb is to have double the amount of guests you are expecting at your shower...so if you have 50 guests, you should have around 100 gifts on the registry. Of course everyone's needs are different but that is a fair starting point. FH and I lived together for 3 years before the wedding and we have a lottt in our house. I had 60 guests at my shower & I registered for 124 items and we got almost everything We also did a HM registry that was awesomeeee and we got a ton off that too. Good luck!

Re: Registry Question
FH and i have lived together for a little more than 2 years. EVERYTHING we have in the house is a hand me down. Except maybe our toaster oven and coffee maker... We have about 165 things on our registry. I would ultimatly like to replace everything in the kitchen especially. We are starting a new stage in our lives together we should have all new things
When we first registered we had about 225 things... we took a lot off so we can get what we REALLY want

Re: Registry Question
People would rather have a lot to choose from then be limited. We only get to do this once, go for it!
