Registry Question

I'm assuming not everything will be bought off our registry. What have you ladies done with the stuff that was not purchased? Do you but the items for yourself and when? I'm thinking AFTER the wedding with any gift cards I may get?

Registry Question

There were only a few things that we didn't get that I really wanted so we used gift cards we got at our shower to buy them.

Re: Registry Question

We purchased the fine china we did not receive and a few other items. I waited until there was a sale at Macys and combined it with an additional discount for completing our registry.

Wait until after you are married as both Macy's and BBB send you a discount for completion. Macys will also send you a gift card for a percentage after your wedding.

We used gift cards and cash that were given to us at our shower.

Registry Question - Long Island Weddings

I would wait until after the wedding, because some people that can't attend the wedding may send you gifts off your registry instead of monetary gifts : )

Registry Question - Long Island Weddings

these are mostly just pointers for Macy's:

-at your shower you will get a ton of gift cards
-about 6 months to a year after the wedding, you will get a gift card from macy's: the amount on the gift card is 5% of every purchase made towards your registry, so it could be ALOT of money depending on how much you registered at macy's.
-Friends and Family at Macy's is the best sale of the year and it happens twice, once in the summertime and once in the beginning of December. It is 25% off of everything including sale items and most stuff in the homewares section that usually only gets 10% off. So this is the best time to use your gift cards and buy the rest of the stuff off your registry that you wanted
