Registry Question: for those living in apartments...?
I don't think I have enough stuff on my registry, but when I look at stuff I just think that because we will be living in an apartment there is a lot of stuff that we don't need/will have room for. Anyone else running into this problem? They say you should register for a certain amount (which I am well below). We are not planning on moving into a house for a year or two after the wedding. Any thoughts?

We currently live in an apartment as well. I registered for a lot of things. I'm not sure when I'll be moving into a house but, until then, my stuff will live with my parents or my FILs until we have room for it. A lot of my friends have done this and they feel like they have another shower when they move and go through their new stuff.

Thats exactly what we did. Registered and got everything, kept it at my moms and now that we are in a huge apartment and can use it all its here. It was sooo much fun moving it all, going through it and organizing all this new stuff, it was seriously like a second shower going through it. And we didn't even bring it all, still have a bunch of stuff and our good china at moms, so we'll get to go through it again when we move into a house.

I don't know if that's really an option for me.

Do you have storage space in a closet for things? Of the stuff I registered for, I'm planning on using everything while in the apartment other than the china and crystal. They pack it up pretty nicely for storage in a closet (if you have the space).

Why not ask for cash or gift cards? For cash, set up a special account and get interests.
That way you can buy what you need when you have your house. I don't see why you would like to use the space for things you don't use yet.

I say- register for everything you know you will need. Remember you won't get it all and it gives people a larger variety of things to choose from.
Plus, you'll have it when you get a house already. Until then you can store it in closets, or buy those big storage bins and stack them in your closet.

I'm in this boat. We registered for things we know we won't use until we get a house. Until the house comes, we're having everything stay at my parent's house for safe keeping.
