Hey if its less money than you cant blame them! I would do it..... Also for some people Fortunoff's is just not as accessible! I had a lot of people buy stuff that was on my registries from other stores, it didnt bother me, to me it was just so nice that they got me something!

Fortunoff offers such a nice bonus with my placesetting. So it really messes up everything for me.

You have to be careful with that, because then you get a lot of duplicates, because people that buy it from Fortunoff look at the registry and see that none have been bought etc. I went to my future sister-in-law's shower this weekend and I bought the stuff from Fortunoff (Like I was supposed to) and someone else gave her the same items but from another store. Of course mine were opened later on and so it looked like I copied! Ha!

Remember, your registry is just a suggestion. Be happy you are getting beautiful gifts!

I registered for my china, stemware and flatware at BOTH Fortunoff and MACY's because MACY's is simply more accessible to my guests nationwide. If I get doubles of any accessories of if I get too many place settings, I will just return the extras to Fortunoff. Then I will get something ELSE off my registry as I remove the 'doubled pieces' from Fortunoff's list. All in all my registry at Fortunoff is much bigger so I have more to choose from if I dont get the china stemware of flatware from that store.

yea, thats a problem! i registered at macy's and LNT ... making sure diff items were on each ... no duplicates. so hopefully if people go to either store ... i'll end up w/ diff items from everyone!

That wouldnt bother me at all...especially since they are being extremely GENEROUS for buying you a place setting..
Keep in mind that bonus's are only for a period of time..
Example:I registered at Fortunoff's and at the time if you purchased a place setting you got the soup bowl for free....I am not depending on that bonus to get my soup bowls....... I registered for soup bowls.

I may sound spoiled but I don;t think a placesettibg or 2 is an amazing gift from a full family attending a wedding. I actuallly think its a bit stingy, since I know how much my parents give to weddings they attend, but that is really besides the point. I really did not want to register for soup bowls, they are so pricey on there own.

It is annoying, but if you are still getting what you registered for, who cares!!

I was referring to receiving a place setting as a shower gift.....I also dont know how much your place setting costs. Mine are 140.00 a place setting, so I WOULD be grateful.....
ETA: my family and I are VERY generous when it comes to giving gifts for weddings, showers,b-days etc...BUT we do it because we want to ,,not to expect it back.

well they are the same price most of the time . but macys does have A LOT of sales..
and macys is all over i only know of 2 fortuneoff's LI & NJ. i can name about 30 macys lol...
i have done that. If someone was registered at fortuneoff i would see if macys had it and i would get it there , it is easier for me to go to macy's then out to li or nj. then i called fortuneoff and told them to take it off the list..

Hey, that's a good idea. I was planning on registering there too. How are their return policies? Can you return things and exchange for store credit at both stores?
