that's terrible. maybe it was damaged??? and then returned, and the buyer realized they wanted to get you something else instead. Think positively!

but we had our engagement party a few weeks ago and had some people who didn't end up coming.

Maybe they will be sending a check instead if they missed the party.
Personally I hate shipping things. haha I know it probably isn't any less time consuming to return it than to ship it, but that's just me.
