FH and I got engaged in November and registered right away in case anyone who heard the news wanted to get us something and also since the holidays were coming up. Well Thanksgiving and Hanukkah passed, and Christmas is this week, and we've been engaged for over a month now... and not ONE item was purchased. Not one... I feel wrong for feeling sad about this... but I wanted something lol...

I got tons of things off mine at my engagement party.
I also sent out engagement announcements to people who were not invited to the party but are invited to the wedding. I got gift cards, checks and gifts in the mail.
I used snapfish and got like 25 or 50 announcements made with free shipping for under 20 bucks. It was not all that bad.

Maybe people are waiting to see if you're going to have an engagement party. They could also be waiting until after the holidays. I think sending out announcements is a good idea if you're not going to have a party.

dont feel bad. We didnt even have an engagement party. I really didnt expect to get anything this early. I registered more for my shower, not for the holidays. But thats just me!

i wouldnt worry about it at all. theres still plenty of time before the wedding. we wouldnt have gotten any gifts off of our registry either if we didnt have an e-party. we didnt tell people about the registries but they figured it out by themselves lol.
