Registry Vent

so this weekend a friend of mine calls me up and tells me that a few of my girls have gone to macys to buy stuff off my registry .... however.... most of my items say discontinued when they print it out.... i dotn understand how it shows avaiable online but in the store discontinued and even my stemwear has to be special ordered....... has anyone else had this problem with Macys???

I don't have a Macy's registry but We have a BBB registry, a Target registry, and JCPenney. I have heard people having problems with the JCPenney registry because many of the items you can purchase on line because they don't have it available in the store. What is the point of the registry then? I would say to all of the bridal registries is to make more products available in the store because many guests can not purchase items on line.

i'm having the SAME problem with crate and barrel. tons of the stuff we registered for says 'no longer available for online purchase' because they've been discontinued, although you could still, maybe, find the items in the store. what really ***** is that FH and I were feeling hopefully and put a dining room set we LOVED on the registry - someone actually got us the wine cabinet, which is totally awesome, but the set has since been discontinued. so now my wine cabinet will not match any of the other furniture in my dining room.

awwwww that *****!!!! i dont get why they make people register for stuff if they discontinue everything!!

I had the same problem with Macys. I remember they sent me an e-mail saying that some stuff was being discontinued so I should pick replacement items. But the most annoying thing was my everyday dishes. I got a 3 place settings & 2 platters and when I tried to complete it, it had been discontinued. Now I have to return everything & pick something new out. And I loved my set...

We only had a 9 month engagement too, so its not like I registered for this stuff 2 yrs in advance.
