why have a registry when people are just going to buy things that aren't on the registry. I have things down and people buy the same thing but not the one I asked for and the stuff I have is cheaper then what people are buying..ok vent over

People are seriously ridiculous. This may sound bratty but I totally don't care, lol, I told my mom the other day that if I am opening a ton of gifts that are NOT from my registry or NOT from 1/3 of the stores that I created my registry at I am going to be pisssssed!

that is true which I will do but why not make life easier and buy the things I put on there so I don't have to go return and purchase

I don't feel that it is bratty at all we did work hard on making a registry so people know what to buy they could take the time to purchase what we like

non-registry gifts are annoying. especially when there's no receipt and no indication of the store it's from. i took pride in making my registry accessible for people with all different price points, but i guess people will do what they want regardless...

Welcome to my world. Someone bought me $100 worth of aprons. I asked for 0. I'm going to be like oh wow aprons. I would have liked a lot of other stuff that is on my registry for $100.
But yay your shower is tomorrow.

Omg what? $100 bucks worth of aprons?? What is wrong with people???? Well hopefully you'll know what store it came from so you could return it and use that credit towards something that was on your registry!

Re: registry vent
I always buy off the registry, but I still want to give a gift that I want to give and that is in my budget. If I cant find something i like that is in my budget, then I say just get a gift card to the store and the person can put it towards whatever they want. One of MIL friends got me something that wasnt on my registry but FH said his mom said this woman never buys off the registry so it didnt upset me. The only reason I can think of why someone wouldnt buy off the registry is because they want to show they put thought into the gift and think registry gifts dont require thought, but atleast its a gift they know you will love. Who knows why people do the things they do!
