registry. . .when is somebody going to buy our china?!?!?!?
I know that the price of my china went up by $5 per setting over the past 24 hours, and NOBODY has bought ANY yet. Somebody bought the cookie press, another person bought 4 out of 8 of my red wine goblets, but NO CHINA SETTINGS!!!
Do I sound like Bridezilla yet? Should I be stressing out over this? My shower is on April 5th. . .who typically buys the china?

things always fly off right b4 so u still have time but with todays economy people might just be buying cheaper stuff..im sure it will go

That's what FH is REALLY worried about. . .that because of the economy, people won't want to buy one china place setting for $65. . .they'll want to buy several little things for that price.

You still have plenty of time before someone may buy it. But just look on the bright side...IF someone doesn't buy it for you ...MOST places give you 10% from your registry. There were a few items that I was really looking foward to getting...but never did. But now I'm excited about the discount LOL...Yes, I need help! LOL

thats not too bad for china i know some are alot more..if it goes grest if not just remember u will get tons of other great stuff

Somebody bought TWO salt and pepper sets from our china pattern--when we requested one set. Oh, well--when we return the second one, we can pick up one place setting.

Should I take some things off of my registry so that people are more inclined to buy place settings?

I know you really want them....but just to be the voice of reason, I wouldn't take things off to 'force' people to pick the china. Because honestly...they won't. They'll use their judgment and buy something cheaper, that you probably don't want. It's not really fair to them either.

Yeah, we do need other stuff. No matter what happens, I'm so exciting watching stuff come off of the registry!!! This is the most I have seen come off in one day:

I think if people want to buy the china they will and if not they still need options to buy something else so you should leave your registry as is and let your guests decide what they want to buy you.

CLose family members usually buy the china. My mom bought ours. I have a lot of good friends w/really good jobs that bought my expensive stuff, but they didn't buy them till the last minute, like the day of. Not that your guest will wait this long, but a lot will wait till the week of your shower, that is just how some ppl work, Besides they are probably waiting for the spring/Easter sales

If they buy my china between now and March 31st (the week of my shower. . .it's the following Sunday), they get the $25 BBB gift card for buying Noritake china!!!
I think the people who are buying now are the people who can't come to the shower (the OOTers). I just sent a registry gift to a friend of mine whose shower I can't attend (it's in Buffalo on the 15th. . .not happening) because I found out it's not a surprise.

i thought the same thing, but FH's mom bought ours for us...I almost didn't even register for it b/c I was afraid of the china rejection
guests still have a month, cross your fingers..what about the bridal party gift?

Yeah me and FH alrdy live together and have a bunch of our stuff so my mom just made me put up china, flatware, glassware and luggage - that's it - so at least i have a chance of getting some of it.

no idea here either! we put the china, but really have no expectation of anyone buying it. it's so expensive and with the economy, i'm figuring that no one will be spending THAT much. sad but true! but the girl that helped us at the store (BBB) told us that we should register for EVERYTHING we could possibly want and provide a good range of prices, so we did! hey, it was fun to scan all those beautiful things... and if we don't get them as gifts, i think that at BBB we get a certain percentage off for the registry completion thing. so hopefully we'll be able to buy some of it ourselves! but, not you don't sound like a bridezilla at all!

I really want our china too and i dont think i am going to get any of it. I did take some things off my registry - like a dust ruffle that i can buy myself at home goods and the salt and pepper shakers from my china set that i think ppl would be more inclined to buy because of the price, but what exactly will i do with them when i have no china? things like that.

My china place settings were just bought last week and my shower is March 14th. The sugar bowl and creamer were bought in the beginning. If I don't get any of the other pieces I'll be fine with that I think it's most important to have the place settings. I am sure in a few weeks someone will buy your place settings.

usually family or the bridal party will chip in and get all the china... so I wouldnt worry about it..
