MY FH and i were discussing whether or not the have a registry.
We already live together & have everything we need. I wonder if it is still necessary. What do you guys think?

Re: Registry (YES or NO)
We are in the same situation, but we did do a registry. We put all the items that we have that are older that we want new. We put expensive plates, flatware.. just upgraded what we have basically. But if you have all you want, maybe have a honeymoon registry??

Re: Registry (YES or NO)
I thought about that but We are both very leery on that idea. I don't know about it though.
I know my FH wouldn't be comfortable with it.

If you truly dont want gifts, I wouldnt make one, and if you are nervous about people buying you weird things, then make a small one with just a few items.

Re: Registry (YES or NO)
I'm not sure how much of a choice there is lol. We really didn't want to do a registry since we don't really need anything. However, I did set one up for the bridal shower. But since invites went out a lot of people have been calling and asking where we are registered and/or have located our registry on their own. In all honesty we would prefer a cash gift but we don't want to tell people that. And if people are set on getting us a gift im not sure if its safer to tell them where we are registered or let them go out and pick something out on their own! lol
So, in short you may want to set up a registry for those folks who are set on getting you a gift whom u dont feel comfortable asking for a check.

Re: Registry (YES or NO)
FH and I did resister, but we also registered for honeymoon stuff, like snorkeling, wine night. We also live together and have everything we need, but some are old so we registered for the new stuff!

Re: Registry (YES or NO)
I don't think you need to be wary of registering for your honeymoon. People are going to call and ask you what you want, and if you have a concrete thing they know they can be contributing to, they'll probably feel more comfortable than just putting cash in an envelope.
However, I think it's ALWAYS appropriate just to put cash in an envelope. Yes please. lol.

Re: Registry (YES or NO)
Yes -- you will get tons of stuff that you don't want or like and you will be stuck with it because of the return policies. Most people will not give you money because you didn't register.. and it will make their lives easier when your shower comes around!
I suggest upgrading things that you already have and get things you have always wanted..this will be the only time in your life you can ask for anything and get it.
BBB will let you return for cash at the Westbury store and Stony Brook's BBB returns for gift cards. Macys also does gift cards for the price the person paid for it if they are bought using the registry.. if they are not, then you get stuck with lowest selling price if you are lukcy.

Re: Registry (YES or NO)
we are in the same boat, but due to LOTS of fights with my mom we made a REALLY small registry at BB&B and our main one is on Honeyfund. bc (according to my mother) 'people need to have a choice' ::sigh::
but there is prob only 15 items on the bb&b one and nothing is over 25$ lol
but Honeyfund is great!

If you are planning to have an engage party and a shower, I would register for sure. We live together too, but we could always use sheets, new coffee maker (ours was ancient) the cake knife and server, toasting flutes for our wedding day,,,,etc etc... You will find stuff for sure. It doesn't have to be huge either!

Re: Registry (YES or NO)
Could you register to upgrade some stuff? That is what I would do if I did not live at home still.

Re: Registry (YES or NO)
I would definately register otherwise people will buy you all this random stuff that you can't even return.
Register and then return it for store credit! You can always use something in the future.
