Registry/Shower poll -- Did you get most of your china?
I'm curious... Did you get all or most of your china? How about your everyday dinnerware? Are you planning to complete your fine china place settings yourself?

i have 7 out of 12 so far... But my shower isn't until Sept 12 hopefully i will get more but if i don't i definately will complete it myself

I didn't register for china but I got all of our regular dinnerwear.

I bought the china for myself last year but I did register for serving pieces that match and didn't get a single thing. We did get all of our every day dishes though.

I haven't had my shower yet.. but I have already received (all out of 12) 5 placesettings, 2 accent plates, 8 ice beverage glasses, and 4 wine glasses from our crystal selections for engagement gifts.
I have a feeling that this will be completed by my shower.. whatever else-- we'll be using that 10% discount from Fortunoff.

We only registered for our everday and good silverware/flatware and dishes/china for our e-party. whatever we didn't get, my mom and fmil bought us for b-days and christmas/chanukah. So we did get it all.

We didn't register for china, but we got all of our everyday dishes (except for a couple of our serving pieces) for our engagement party.

My parents bought us all the regualr dishes & associated peiecs from an engagement present & Between engagemet & shower presnts we received al twelve china palce settings.
FMIL has bought us a few of the serving peices that go with it , but we didnt' register for b/c they didn't have them at the places we registered.
I may buy some of those myself too, but I have a feeling they would be future Christmas & birtday presents.
I didn't reive all our faltware though, which I will buy, useless we get it as a wedding present, b/c what's the use of 12 settings of good china with only 4 settings of flatware?

i havent had my shower yet but for engagement gifts we got more than half of our place settings of our china, most of our platters that go with it and other accessories all of our crystal wine goblets and some of our water goblets we already got all of our plates for our everyday collection ETC....
whatever we dont get we will buy after the shower 10% off at fortunoff everything left on your registry

I did register until after I got engagement gifts, since I didn't have a party. I ended up getting 6 out of 12 place settings at my shower. I bought 2 more place settings with credit from things I returned at Fortunoff (and I waited for the 10% completion certificate). My MIL bought our everyday dishes for us after we got engaged.

I only received 1 setting at my shower. However, I really can't complain, I did get so much stuff, and my China is very expensive. I will slowly complete it over time. I LOVE my China.

we got our ENTIRE everyday dinnerware set, all place settings and serving pieces from tom's parents for our engagement party...it was WAY too generous of them!!! but very much appreciated by us
and then for the shower, we got all of the place setting for the formal chine....but are still missing most of the serving pieces and most of the crystal....but that's what Christmas and birthdays are for!!!

Well I only got 3-settings - BUT thats because NONE of the Macys had it in stock - My shower was today and alot of the guest were saying they treid to purchase it but couldnt...
GGRRR - that really aggrivates me....

I had my shower yesterday and I received all of our everyday settings (12) and I received all of our china settings (12). We did not receive any of the extras (platters and stuff).

I have 11 of 12. But thats only because my mom bought me for christmas/birthday. I got no China at my shower!

My e-party is in 3 weeks! I just checked the online registry and saw that 8/12 settings have been bought plus the teapot and cream and sugar...YAH!! There is still a lot left, but the invites haven't been sent out yet, so I am really lucky so far!

After my shower (today) I have 8/12 for my china
Almost all my crystal and all of our everyday ware place settings and accessories.
I think a few more things will trickle in with wedding and I know my Mom will fill in missing pieces over holidays/b-days.
We also got a few gift certs and have a few, but not many doubles to return.

well, I can't really answer that. My store made a mistake and put my china on CLEARANCE...I happened to be there that day (the mistake only lasted one day- I will ALWAYS remember that day. It was November 1, 2002)
So, we bought the whole set on the spot.
But, with regard to my crystal, I got the expensive serving pieces, but only 2 champagne flutes. I bought water and wine glasses on my own.
We got NONE of our silver flatware. I also bought a bunch of that myself.
But, I did get ALL of my appliances, ALL of my bedding, and ALL of my casual china and casual glasses...

I got all the formal china and the every day china too. My every day china is actually a lot more expensive than the formal china but I just loved it. I did my registry in stages. i registered for all the china first with a few other gifts to make sure people bought that. once I saw it was being purchased, I added other things that were less important. I did not register for silver though I regret that now to some extent. i think it would have been purchased. We needed other things though since we bought a house and I just didn't think silver was essential yet.
We got about 7 wedding gifts - the rest was cash which was nice. the china was all from engagement gifts and shower gifts
