I was curious... just because our weddings are over a year away... does anyone have any wedding planning regrets...or realize that they have made any mistakes or wrong decisions yet?
I think I was so excited about booking my vendors...and although I am head over heels in love with my RH and DJ... I am upset that I booked my photographer without doing more research.
Has anyone else found they have made any mistakes so far???

I don't necessarily think I made a mistake but I'm on the fence about my photographer. He takes the most gorgeous photos I've ever seen and my fiance LOVES him so we chose him. When we made the contract there was a mix up in communication and I got into an (almost fight) exchange of words.
I met with a ton of photographers and no one else compared to him.
I plan to do my engagement photos soon. So it's still early enough to book with someone else if it doesn't go well. I feel like because we had our disagreement he may hold it against me and not do his best.
Hopefully he will prove me fears wrong and do an amazing job like he always does.
(I wasn't kidding when I said I looked at a ton of photographers, so I really did my homework that's not the issue- I'm just worried about having a communication problem again)

I'm sorry to hear that you're not 100% happy with your photographer.
So far I haven't had any regrets. We've booked RH, church, photo/video and florist.

somedays I have regrets like I should have looked at more vendors but in the end I know I made the right choice.
If you arent 100% confident in your photographer its never to late to book someone else you still have plenty of time

The only thing that stinks is that we put a $1000 deposit down that is not refundable...and FH has a hard time swallowing the concept of just throwing that money in the garbage and going with someone else...and I totally understand.

Crashing!
Speaking from experience you must LOVE your photographer and be 110% sure of them. This is my most regretful area was that there were signs before the wedding and little things that I was unhappy with and in retrospect I should have eaten the deposit and booked with someone who I had more confidence in. We can't redo our wedding photos and I am envious of brides who paid a little more but are obsessed with their photos. In the grand scheme of things will you really remember if you spent an extra thousand dollars on something? Whatever your budget is, it's only an extra thousand and you can make it up elsewhere.

We've only book our RH so far and we are very happy with our choice.
We are not planning on booking with any other vendors until we are a year out.

'10 bride popping in.
It's funny to see this post, because I just ordered my dress last week, and while I love it, it's so hard not to 2nd guess myself! Especially now that all the 2010 dresses are coming in. So, not necessarily a regret, more of a 'what if'....

We haven't made enough choice to regret anything yet.
Only RH, Church, and Limos. So far we are happy with our choices.

so far, i dont regret anything either....Our Rh was probably not my first choice if i went by just looks but we were treated sooo well there, and we got an awesome deal since we have a family connection that I rest assured that they will do a great job for us. i've also ordered my dress and veil and booked photographer and have no regrets there.

I know I am different than alot of people in that I get a gut feeling when I LOVE something, & that's it I become obsessed...we will be engaged 1 year xmas day & we booked the church, hall, photographer, & DJ. I ordered my dress & purchased my DOJ. We'll book the limos & flowers after the New Year. But I just feel like I do all my research for every aspect & I when I find it, I just know.
The only thing I used to regret was that we didn't book for June '10. But now I see that would only be 8 months away & the money would have to fall from the sky because there's no way we'd have enough by then. FH has said that he would have got a 2nd job but that's not necessary. It will be worth the wait & we will be able to afford everything we want.

So far we have booked our reception hall. We have to wait on booking everything else till I find a new J.O.B. Very frustrating.(Just graduated in May and still looking)

if only you had a friend at work that you could talk to and help you out with stuff like this, maybe he could tell you things like 'dont rush into anything K.Fro!!!'

I feel the same way some times about my photographer. He showed us one wedding he did that was amazing. I looked on their website and all the weddings looked so so. I'm sure everything will work out awesome for our wedding. Beautiful people should make beautiful pictures no matter what. Our deposit was a 1000 also, so there is no way my fh will leave that behind. I wish i did alittle more research. Pictures arent the most important thing to me tho.
