Hey Ladies... Are you doing both photography and photojournalism, or just one or othe other?
Not really sure what the differences are and what's better. Hope you can help thx

Getting both. The difference is mainly that the regular photography is what you expect, little more traditional, 'posed' shots but photojournalism is like more candid shots, they take pics of you when you are looking, they capture things that are set up.

I think the photojournalist does more candid shots - I'm having both.

we're having both. if you got to the bride's review and look at xfinallyx's review, her photog did only photojournalistic, and they came out great. i like the idea of both, esp for the family shots.

Originally I chose regular photography, but now I'm really thinking about Photojournalism. I have an payment appt. with my photography studio, I'm going to ask them how much more it may cost. I have noooo clue, and I fear it may be much more money. I should have asked for a package deal to begin with--could have probably gotten a better price

do mean hiring a photog just for photojournalistic shots? that will cost a bit more. if you want your photog to take both kinds of pics, that shouldn't be any extra charge. we're using on photographer who will be taking both kinds of shots.

See this is what I mean, when I said I didn't know what I was talking about! lol..I assumed I would have needed an additional photog for photojournalism pictures. lol. Thanks for clarifying.

I'm getting both. I love the look and candidness of photojournalism but I also want traditional photos as well.

Most wedding photographers today will do a mixture of both...I looked at a ton of photographers' websites and met with 6 photographers and they all offered a mix of both.

I think you're right! I booked with a photography studio without first thinking about these questions. I'll contact them and ask. I booked with Proline Studios, and I'm sure they have a good reputation. Thanks for all the help girls!

Hey I booked with proline, and the package I have I have 2 photographers that day... 1 that will do that traditional shots and the other that will do the photojournalistic shots... I don't know if they have one that will do both... but i'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask!
