Re: Reh. Dinner guest or no guests
I didn't want my bridal party to be without their husbands or the groomsmen to be without their wives, so we invited everyone who was married to bring their spouse or significant other.

If their guest is invited to the wedding then they should also be invited to the rehersal dinner.

Re: Reh. Dinner guest or no guests
i really had no say in this since IL's paid for it so MIL said only if they're married could they bring their spouse. if you were just dating, they werent invited. it seemed fair, especially cause we had about 40 people and i didnt want her to pay too much.

I can see her point, but what about OOT guests? You travel all this way to go to a wedding and then you have to sit in your hotel while FH goes to the rehersal dinner? I actually have friends who went to a wedding in the UK. He was invited to the rehersal dinner and she wasn't. They traveled all that way and she had to sit on her butt in the middle of no where..the wedding wasn't even in a big city, it was out in the country somewhere.

I agree...
We invited everyone with a guest since they were invited to the wedding with a guest. Many of our BP was travelling from far away to come to our wedding, so it only made sense to invite their guests...

Yes, I think that the BP should be invited with guests. Put yourself in their situation. 1) if you were in the BP and didn't know anyone else 2) you were the guest and say were travelling from OOT. DH is in a wedding in FL in November and if I am not invited to the RD I would be very upset.

well, that was the exception to her rule. i had family from OOT (actually OOcountry) that were already in town when we had the RD and she was like 'of course they can come!'. she's crazy but she's not a biotch!!! Just kidding...i love my MIL!!!

i think they should be invited with a guest- especially if they are from OOT. the 'date' is not gonna want to sit in the hotel room while the BP member is at the RD.

Re: Reh. Dinner guest or no guests
The last couple of weddings I've been to they invited the bridal party with their dates and all OOT guests. I think that's the typical ettiquette. But I've also seen OOT guests not invited, and people not invited with dates.
