THATS FINE MY FIL'S LIKED THIS PLACE AND WE WENT THERE THE OTHER NIGHT AND THE FOOD IS AWESOME.
FIL'S PAYING FOR IT ALSO.
ANYWAY... THEY CHOSE THE WHOLE MENU. I MEAN IS'NT IT ME AND MY FIANCE WHO CHOSE WHAT DO PICK FROM??
AM I WRONG? COULD I BE BLOWING THIS OUT OF CONTROL?
I LOVE HIS PARENTS DEARLY BUT IS IT FAIR OF THEM TO PICK THE FOOD ? I KNOW ITS JUST THE REHEARSAL DINNER, BUT ITS STILL A PART OF MY WEDDING.
I MEAN ALL I EAT IS CHICKEN AND SHRIMP WHEN I GO OUT AND THERE IS A DISH ON THERE I HAVE KNOW IDEA WHAT IT IS.. CHICKEN PICCATA HEHE AND NO SHRIMP
ALSO MY FIANCE LIKES VEAL AND ITS VEAL MARSALLA-- HE HATES MUSHROOMS...
IS THIS A PROBLEM OR AM I MISSING SOMETHING???

Wow, you have a lot on your hands. If they wanted to choose fine...but they know both of you pretty well (Im guessing) you would think they could put food on the menu that they know you like or at least ak you about it. I would talk to them about it...ask them if they could add it to your list because its 'one of your favorites'. That should deffinatly matter.

this is tough - my FIL's also are paying for the whole thing - and i so far have not put in any of my opinions. i kinda look @ it as my FMIL's thing to plan - but i dont think it would be wrong for you to ask what she's doing.
play it like you are excited and want to see the menu options, and what she chose, and the centerpieces, and whatnot - and if you find things you are not happy with take the 'oh - YUM they have chicken francese (or whatever you like) - can we get that?? its my favorite!!'
try killing her w/ kindness on this one - any other way i think will make you look like the bad guy...IMO

know how you feel...my fil is paying for the reception and as soon as i bought the menu home, mil bought it to sil's husband to translate for her what each item was (her english not that good). sooo...getting the feeling we will have this problem too..

Why must people make everything so stressful and complicated. I would talk to them about it. You should be picking the food. What resturaunt did you choose?

kinda hard - even though it's my wedding, still need to show them some respect and let them have some kind of say in it b/c they are helping to pay for it.

I can understand how you feel, but they are paying for it & are probably excited to plan something.
My FIL's booked our place on Monday & they have since decided on the menu for that night....she didn't ask our opinion on nothing.

Umm, sorry, but traditionally, the groom's family hosts the RD and they are the only ones that get the say in the meal choice. Of couse, it would be nice if they consulted you, but they don't have to.

I agree.
FILs are paying for the RD and I just let them do what ever they want. I figure its their event to plan.

well if they are paying for it I would nicely sugest a dish or 2 that you both like and just say hey can we change this one to that one what is the worst they can say NO!!!
