Rehearsal Dinner
Hi Ladies! I am having a hard time finding the right place for my rehearsal dinner. Not many places will rent out their restaurant on a Friday night for 70 people. We would also like to stick to Western Nassau Here are some places that we are considering: (If you have any feedback that would be great) Elephant Room - Roslyn Inn at Great Neck --This is where our room block is Roslyn Claremont Hotel Long Island Marriot City Cafe Thanks

why are u having so many people for a rehearsal dinner?
Im just curious, do you have a big bridal party? Maybe, you should try to limit it to people just involved in the wedding.

The only poeple that we are having are the bridal party and our immediate family (parents, siblings, grandparents, aunt& uncle & adult first cousins) it just added up so quickly. I was so shocked when we added it all up. We are inviting all of the aunts and uncles because they are all traveling in from out of town.

Our rehearsal dinner list had gotten way out of hand too but we had to cut it down when we got up to 70 because I kept thinking -- we might as well have the wedding at the rehearsal. You shouldn't feel obligated to invite all of your aunt/uncles and cousins who came in from out of town. Plus that's a lot of money. But as far as suggestions go -- I'm not too familiar with Nassau county but a hotel would be convenient -- especially if a large number of folks are staying there.

Rehearsal Dinner - what I did..
I had 50 people at my rehearsal dinner, and encountered the same problem with restaurants not wanting to have so many people there (my rehearsal dinner was on a Saturday night). My wedding was at Crest Hollow, so I looked at the Hilton in Huntington (exit 49S off the LIE). They had beautiful 'meeting rooms' which we decorated elegantly, and they did a wonderful job, bringing in flowers, elegant lights, and decorative trees. They catered the dinner, with a sit down dinner, including appetizer and dessert. Plus, since it wasn't part of a restaurant, it was private, we played background music, and ended up staying there for about four hours!!! It was great. Cheap too - I think it ended up being around $1400 for 50 people (including soda). I didn't have alcohol, because I didn't think it was necessary for that night, when they would be drinking the next day at the wedding. It really turned out quite beautiful and elegant. I can give you the name and number of the person I dealt with there, who was sooo helpful. Just a thought.Welcome New Vendors
