Rehearsal dinner

Rehearsal dinner

Is it tacky to have the rehearsal dinner at my house. I've only called on restaurant and they want $35/person not including alcohol. It seems like so much money when you're paying for a wedding

Not at all. I think its more comfortable for everyone except the people that have to clean up...LOL

FH and I are actually considering the same thing.

I dont think so at all. I would have rather had mine at my mother's house because it would be really relaxing, but she didn't want to deal with the clean up. I love house parties!

It's not tacky at all....My sister had her RD at my cousin't house and it was very nice because we were all very relaxed and noone had to leave right after we ate....We were able to sit around and chat....=)

That's definitely not tacky...it'll be a nice, relaxing atmosphere for everyone to hang out and mingle. I've been to 2 RD at homes and they were both really nice.

Thanks girls! That makes me feel better. Maybe I'll call a couple more restaurants and if the prices are too high I'll see about doing it at home

We booked a RD at a nice Italian resturant in Setauket for $16.99/PP, but that doesn't include the bar, but we know some people won't be drinking, so those who want to, can buy something, while those of us who just want water in the summer can have that.

I think a home party would be great! We are doing a traditional Chinese wedding banquet for the RD. It isn't as expensive as the wedding, and we are having less people but it is a way to honor Jimmy's family.
