I'm looking into places to have the Rehearsal Dinner.. (any suggestions?? Close to Merrick where the church is)
The question I want to know..don't know if you guys have thought about it yet.. are you or aren't you inviting Bridal Party dates?
I have 9 BM's, and 8 GM.
If I invite bridal party and a guest, I will have 50 people. is this average?? 21 people are immediate family.
The rest is Bridal party, that does include some family (cousins).
And I will hurt feelings of others if I tell people they can only bring their other half if they are engaged or married.
It's either all or none.
SO what to do??

Based on what you said about all or nothing then I think that you have to invite all. You really can't say that spouses can't come especially if they're from out of town.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
I am definitely inviting my bridal party's significant others to the RD and I have 9 and 9 as well. Personally, I would think its very rude if I was a BM and my FH wasn't invited to the RD.
As for recommendations for restaurants....La Piazza in Merrick, Nick D'Angelo's in Merrick, Corbin and Reynolds in Long Beach, Runyon's in Seaford/Wantagh, Pomodorino's in Seaford, I didn't see when you were getting married but maybe something on the Nautical Mile?

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
I figured I would be inviting all. I have been in bridal parties in the past where it's just the bridal party no guests.. it's not as much fun. I guess we just have to part w/ the $$$$.
As time gets closer to the wedding, I feel all our money is dissappearing

Good Day my dear -
Put yourself in one of your bridesmaid shoes -- How would you feel? I mean this is totally you - I know what money can be like sometimes - And it is freaking tough!!!!!!!! My thoughts is inviting everyone....Who knows maybe not everyones dates can go because it iis during the week - but just to give the option is nice....And whatta bout Brooklyn Cafe - YOU WANT SOME MEATBALLS LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Or Mateo's - You can save money for Buffet - BAckyard???

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
I've been struggling w/ the RD guestlist as well....we are inviting BP w/ SO...readers w/ SO....gift givers w/ SO
But I'm not inviting OOT guests. Half of my friends from college are coming in from MD but won't be getting there until Friday night anyway,so we've decided to not invite them. No one in my family is OOT, so we are clear there but FH's family has a few OOT people coming and most likely won't be invited since they will have local family members to be with.
I feel like the RD is something you have w/ the people that have a special place in your heart and that have a huge part in your wedding day. If you start inviting everyone under the sun, it's mini-wedding. I swear only in NY does this happen! lol I've been to two friends weddings in MD & weren't invited to RD and that was fine with me!
You have to decide on your budget, if you don't have the money to spend, then you just don't and there is nothing you can do about it.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
Lee-LOL meatballs... I thought about that place, but they don't have a private room, and it might be kinda tight in there. Matteos I wont do.. bad experience when ex bf sister had her RD there and she got food poisening and was throwing up all day at her wedding .
I might consider having it at my uncles house. And having it catered.
We'll see Thanks for your input ladies!!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
My friend had her's at vivo loco's on Merrick Road. I was also thinking about Rana's on Merrick Avenue, especially if it's a weeknight you will have the whole place to yourself. my FH wants to do Majors. As far as the nautical mile, I'm from Freeport and if you are getting married during the colder months, you will probably get a good deal and there are so many great places on the mile.
