Re: Rehearsal Dinner
me and FH have this argument all the time! Technically you only do a rehearsal dinner if you're having your ceremony at a church. But since times have changed and not everyone gets married at a church, rehearsal dinners are done just for the hell of having a dinner the night before. It's not jewish tradition to have a rehearsal dinner so I wanted to skip it but FH still wants to do one. We have a while to decide

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
we are definitely doing one...and will do it either the tues/weds/thurs before our friday wedding (depending on the church and when they will let us come in to do the rehersal)

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
totally agree with you Jess i just told my mom the exact same thing, that that is how it 'evolved' into this new tradition and I really DONT want to do it i mean, the night before my wedding, i want to do NOTHING!!!
thanks , im glad im not the only one that feels like this, though its a little easier for you if you have it friday, and get married sunday but im getting married saturday and i dont want to do ANYTHING friday night, let alone get dressed up and entertain people - i dont know what to do

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
I am also getting married on a Saturday so we will probably have it on the Thursday before.

I don't want to do anything either the night before the wedding! This is definitely an argument FH and I have agreed to settle on a later date.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
I know Fox Hollow usually does a rehearsal run through before the actuall ceremony. As for the dinner I think I mgiht do it when the majority of OOT people arrive. My wedding is a Sun. and I'd like Sat. to relax!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
Have it the Thurs. before. You don't have to have it the night before.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
Probably not having one...if we do its going to be a BBQ at my parents house or something low-key like that. (We're having a brunch the morning after).
Have it on a Thurs night. Or the weekend before, if you can't do weeknights. We went to the Lucky Duck in W. Hempstead for a friend's RD, the food was really good

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
We are having one. I'm not sure where as of yet. FH's parents are paying. Since my wedding is THanksgiving weekend i think we'll have the rehearsal and the dinner a week before.
