Who should be invited to the rehearsal dinner?? I know the bridal part and OOT guests...is there anyone else that is traditionally invited??

I don't think so. We're probably only inviting those that are involved in the wedding and close family that are oot guests.

We are only inviting our immediate families, aunts, uncles and cousins, bridal party and a small number of OOT guests.

We invited our bridal party with guests, parents, grandparents and readers. We had our rehearsal dinner the Tuesday before the wedding so our OOT guests were not in yet otherwise we may have included them as well.

Do I have to invite my family...uncles and aunts, were not close and none of them are in the bridal party. Also, is it too much to do the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding??

we are only doing the bp, parents and spouces. if we did all our oot guests, wed be close to the size of the wedding. so my parents are having a small 'welcome' bbq dinner at the house the night before.

The rehearsal dinner is only supposed to be those that would actually be at the rehearsal. Kind of like: Thanks for coming and helping us out on our big day. Now we will feed you and thank you. It is nice to also invite their spouses/dates.

As for other family members and OOT guests, go ahead if you'd like, but not necessary. We actually met all of our guests at a resturant/bar for an informal gathering for a few hours the night before the wedding. This gave them an opportunity to have a place to meet and hang out. We put the directions and time in their welcome bag at the hotel. (We have all been to those weddings where you get into town and you wonder if your aunt Lucy is in town yet, or your college buddies. You also wonder where you can go to eat or drink.)

This gave everybody an opportunity to unwind and see us before things got so hectic on the wedding day. We left and they kept partying!!! In fact, on our anniversary, we still had people talking about how they thought the night before the wedding was a great idea!!
