Rehearsal Dinner?????

Okay my FH and I are paying for our rehearsal dinner. My dear FH thinks we can do without one. I dont agree I feel we need one.

Does anyone have any inexpensive rehearsal dinner ideas or restuarants.
We have 25 people (whos idea was it to have such a large bridal party lol)

Any ideas would be helpful thanks ladies

Re: Regearsal Dinner?????

Could you possibly do it at someones house? The more casual the rehersal dinner is the better usually. This way everyone can relax and save all their energy for the big day. Ive heard of people doing BBQ's or even having a deli cater at the house.

I wish I had someones house to do it at. My FH thinks we can have it at our apartment but it cant happen.
Thank you though would be perfect
I need someplace in the Commack Smithtown Northport area.
We have checked some places but I really dont wanna budget $1500 for our rehearsal dinner.
I would love about $800 but I dont think its gonna happen

Maybe you could do a lunch rather than a dinner? Prices are always lower for lunch...

Jackie Reilly's in Levittown or Bethpage(not sure) is a GREAT price.... Here's the main info:

over 25 people - buffet - 3 hot dishes and colt cut platter, pasta salad, mixed green salad - own cake no charge...19.95 per person plus tax, plus grat
including beer, wine and soda - $27.95 - plus 18% tax - plus 8.625 tax - without tax if in cash

sit down dinner - appetizer, soup or salad, sliced london broil, 12 ounce shell steak, chicken is francaise or marsala and penne vodka with chiken or grilled fillet of salmon, vegggies, roasted potatoes, bread, butter coffee & tea - $20.95 per person - beer wine and soda makes it $28.95 per person...

I'm not sure how far you are from Huntington but there is a great Chinese/Japanese restaurant with a private room called East Buffet. We've had multiple family parties there and it's very reasonable. Also, try to think of places that are kitschy and fun. Our friends had their rehearsal dinner at a very cool and local pizza place in Boston that was famous.

I would suggest like a chinese buffet...that would fit your budget. Nocello's in Northport wasn't expensive. Also try Olio or Cielo's in Smithtown.

fh and i are doing things all on our own, so for the engagement party, we were able to get the clubhouse @ his grandmother's senior development. my mom and his mom helped put together trays of food while we decorated and provided alcohol. i'm happy to say that it was cheap (for 60 people) and a smashing success w/ many complimentary phone calls in the days following.

even if you don't have access to a clubhouse like that, you can always get a room for pretty cheap ($100?) @ knights of columbus or amvets and DIY.

Any Lessings restaurants, Bulldog Grille in Amityville, Finnigans in Huntington, Post Office Cafe in Babylon, Three Village Inn (15% off rehearsal dinners and showers there), are all very reasonably priced. The Bulldog is by far the best deal though. Check their website!

I would suggest wherever you go, get a 'fixed menu' this way you can keep the costs down; or do a buffet. And only offer beer and wine, no mixed drinks.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner?????

just have a wine/coffee and dessert party after the rehersal! if you hold it later in the evening it doesnt look like youre trying to skimp but just providing dessert for everyone
