I am just wondering...is the bridal party and their family invited or just the bridal party itself?
Thanks, Jen

Re: Rehearsal dinner
as far as I know, for the dinner rehearsal you only invite the BP, may be their dates (if you can afford it), and out of town guests, plus your parents. You can add whoever you want if you can afford it, but I think the idea is to have a small gathering of the people who have been supporting you through the process of getting your wedding together.
good luck,

Re: Rehearsal dinner
I agree with avesur and I will add this, the rehearsal dinner started because the wedding party and immediate family i.e, FOB would have a rehearsal of the order of events in the church, temple, etc...they are traditionally casual.LOL

Re: Rehearsal dinner
Thanks because I was just wondering...my bridesmaids are my cousins and a girlfriend...his groomsmen are cousins and a friend....I was thinking if it was necessary to invite my cousins parents also (also my cousins)....my mom said she never heard of people having a rehearsal dinner and I had to explain it to her....of course now my head is spinning from the whole thing!! Thanks for the responses!!

Re: Rehearsal dinner
It is at its basic parents, couple and the bridal party anyone else is just a nice gesture. If you have out of town guests you want there you can ask them but it is at your discretion. I have been to rehearsal dinners with just parents, bp and the couple, and then I went to my cousins rehearsal dinner and my uncle had a lot of out of town business friends so he had 70 people (less than 150 total at the wedding). If you have close friends or out of town family that you want to invite go ahead but if finances are not that way you do not have to invite them - it is only a nice gesture. etd to say - you should also invite spouses and dates of the bp.

Re: Rehearsal dinner
Also, if you go by etiquette, the groom's family is responsible for the rehersal dinner.

Re: Rehearsal dinner
We are having our bp, their significant others, our immediate family, and any relatives who came from out of town.
