Are invites being sent for your rehearsal and rehearsal dinner? Paper invitations or phone calls?

I want to send invites; FH thinks it's an unnecessary expense.
But I'm fighting for the invites! I think it's a pre-wedding party, and you send invitations to a party. It's weird though - I actually don't think I'm winning this one...

Well the reason I ask is b/c FMIL is being shady as usual. They're taking care of the dinner but being very nasty about it for some reason. When FH asked about invites she said that 'people dont do that for the rehearsal dinner. They find out about it when they get there!' Tell me I'm being crazy but I just thought this was plain ridiculous. SOME SORT of invitation needs to be extended, right?? How will people 'find out about it when they get there' if they never know that there's a 'there' to get to???? Lol.

will probably do simple paper invites just to give people heads up of place and time, but FH also thinks they are not needed, i say yes cuz we r getting married north of albany, and most people will some extra info

Ohhh that's interesting. FH and I are living just outside Albany right now in Guilderland while I'm going to graduate school. Latham is just a few minutes away... very nice area! Are you from up here?

If you want to send an invite and not pay any money try a evite. They have nice ones for wedding related events.

We're not doing invites. The only people attending will be the immediate family and bridaly party.
