Rehearsal Dinner ?

Rehearsal Dinner ?

So according to 'tradition' FH's parents are supposed to pay for the RD. They are SO not into our wedding at all (it's kinda annoying). We are paying for the wedding ourselves, are they still supposed to pay for the RD? If so, how do I approach it? TIA

I am in the same boat with my FILs. FH and I have decided not to approach them at all. We will be paying for the RD ourselves.

My DH parents weren't initailly into it either so we didn't even approach them with it. We decided that we were going to pay for the RD. Later when they found out about it they said that they would be paying for it. So maybe they will change their minds later and want to be more involved.

Traditionally yes. My mother and I were paying for the whole wedding. I so wanted to tell his family that they should pay. I didn't and after a year of being engaged they said they were going to pay. I was so happy but I would not say anything b/c I think that is rude and tacky I would wait for them to say something if they don't then I guess its up to you to pay.

I would stay out of it and let your FH talk to his parents about it.

I would wait to see if they will offer. Traditionally yes the grooms parents pay, but nobody is obligated to pay for something. If anything wait a little bit and see if they will and if they still haven't said anything, I would have your FH just bring it up.

I agree, he should be the one to hint to them that it's their responsibility.
