i know i have time, but the place we booked comes with salad, choice of 3 entrees, cake and unlimited soda. should i do a seperate tab for alcohol or is that not necessary?

Re: rehearsal dinner
maybe you can just do like wine on the tables...any other drinks they might want would be up to them to pay for

I agree, see if they can do red/white/sparkling waters on tables, and cash bar it for the rest.

I like the wine on the tables idea, we did that, and our guests loved it, and my family are big wine drinkers.

Re: rehearsal dinner
to cut back on cost for ours.. we did strictly bridal party.. no dates , no spouses... the wedding is the next day... everyone brings their significant others then. The point of the rehearsal dinner is for teh BP to rehearse and parents/ grandparents and then dinner to thank them. So you can add beer wine and soda, if you cut back? Thats what we decided with and I think if you explain to your BP that point that its to thank them.. they'll prob understand.
