Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to have a rehearsal dinner that isn't too much money? I can't really have it at my house because I don't really have the room for over 20. I am trying to budget everything and I am a little stuck on the rehearsal dinner budget. I am gladly paying for this because no one else should be inconvenienced with our wedding plans because I believe that FH and I want a bigger type of party and most of the Long Island wedding essentials, then we should pay for it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: rehearsal dinner
I have been looking around because FMIL keeps asking questions since she is paying for it. I am currently finding that many of the places are from 30-40 pp for a sit down dinner and this does not include drinks. I am currently thinking that I am going to pick Irish Coffee Pub in East Islip. I am having around 33 people, so a seperate room is desired.
I recall hearing someone say they liked The Garden Grill in Smithtown and it wasn't too pricey. Hopefully this isnt too far from your RH.

Re: rehearsal dinner
I was looking for someplace around port jeff. I was thinking of renting a room at the PJ Village center (they have small party rooms) and I was going to have my mother and my brother-in-law, who is a chef, make the food. I was going to go with an Italian family style type of meal. We make our own tomato sauce in my family so I thought that I could just make a big pot of that which is cheap as hell and then make spaghetti and meatballs. The room rental comes with table and chairs, all I have to provide is the tablecloths and some decorations. They even have a room that has a small warming kitchen so the food can be set up there and won't get cold. Do you think this is a dumb idea or is it ok. I don't want to seem tacky but I am trying to be frugal here haha. What do you guys think?

Re: rehearsal dinner
I'm getting married in Port Jeff and we are having the rehearsal dinner at The Garden Grill in Smithtown. It's not too far way. Maybe 20 minutes and it's on the way from the church in KP. It's actually pretty reasonably priced too.

I think that's adorable. It's so homey and family-oriented and sounds like fun. The only concern I'd have is your feeling too jammed up the night before your wedding so give that some thought. If you have an awesome supportive family and BP then you should be good.
