so we are having a very small bridal party - and getting married at our RH... Im not even sure that we have a rehearsal??? LOL
In any case, I will be seeing FH before the ceremony so maybe they will run through it the day of....
Is it necessary to have an actual rehearsal dinner??? or can we do something smaller and just keep it simple?
Any ideas?

Re: Rehearsal dinner???
Do you, your parents, or FILs have a big house? We had an backyard BBQ at my parents (which obviously isn't an option for you). Maybe you can have everyone over for something small- like cocktails and h'or devoures. Even if a RD isn't necessary I think its a fun way to de-stress and hang out before the wedding with your BP and fam.

No if you don't see it as necessary you don't really NEED one. It is good for the parents if they haven't really met yet, or for both sides of the BP (none of mine know each other so we need this). But I think we're doing like a relaxing lunch and maybe wine tasting after. Since I have a day wedding everyone will be up early the next day, so I wanted to get all the necessary stuff out of the way early.
Also... this is prob the ONE thing FH's parents are going to help with (mine are doing the RH, FH and I are doing everything else) so I wanted to make sure they are able to contribute...

Re: Rehearsal dinner???
Same situation here...we decided last minute since we had some extra cash to have a rehearsal 'luncheon'....having it at my moms...BP and parents...no spouses of BP cuz it would be too much...we are getting a couple of trays of food/appetizers, wine, beer, soda....nothing crazy....we thought this would be a good opp for the BP who doesnt know each other to meet....to thank them...to give them their gifts AND to give them a run down of what time they have to meet where and pictures, etc...

I couldn't agree more in regards to using the RH to de-stress and KICK THNGS OFF! For us, it was the first event in the wedding weekend lineup and it really got people pumped up and ready to rock! We had an absolute BLAST!

Re: Rehearsal dinner???
yes people do it more for a gathering before the wedding, they give out gifts to BP and parents, and everyone has their chance to telll fun stories and laugh and relax before the craziness of the day.

If you can do it, I'd say do it. Our RD was a lotttt of fun.
