Rehearsal Dinner? dont know what to do!

My FH and I are getting married on site .... I would like to have a dry run the night before it would make me feel better....Anyone else getting married on site thinking about that? - 2nd part - the dinner - I know that usually the grooms family picks up the tab for that should I tell them that were planning a Rehearsal and see what they say about a dinner- Its very hard dealing with my FMIL - if not then I think that we should take care of it because my parents are taking care of EVERYTHING else and I don't want to push my luck - I would rather know sooner then later so we can save up $$ for the dinner -- HELP!

I think it is a great idea to want to do a dry run through at the reception hall...In regards to the rehearsal dinner, I know it is customary for the groom's parents to pay for it but I think we are getting stuck with that bill too I would mention to FIL's that you are planning a rehearsal & you were wondering if they would be contributing anything...

Same here. We're paying for the rehearsal dinner. Also think FILs aren't going to contribute to it. I told FH 'you know customarily the groom's parents pay for the rehearsal dinner' He said 'That's not happening'. We'll see. I would suggest having FH talk to them.

I was wondering what you do about a rehearsal if you are getting married at a hall. Wouldn't there probably be another function there the night before? Anyone know how this works?

I didn't get that far yet - I am getting married on Friday night - I just assumed that Thur. night nothing would be going on but of course I have to ask - but I am sure that one night that week it will be empty - I will let you know when I find out -

Thank you girls I did want you guys said he is going to bring it up and just see what there reaction is .....and worse case I also spoke with my mom she said we could just have the bridal party back to the house - its my sister his two brothers and just 3 friends - 6 people so I will just have to play it by ear
