rehearsal dinner favor thought??

i saw this cute thing where you buy those clearish opaque envleopes, instant lotto tickets and put in a penny with your wedding yr on it and seal with a personalized sticker (ie - names, rehearsal dinner and date)

do you think this is good enough or should we plan on something more??

(I never even realized that you needed to have favors at a rh dinner!)

I had NO idea that you're supposed to give anything at a RD..

Luckily, FMIL is planning ours, but I don't think so.. the only presents being given out are you bp's gifts.. I've never received a favor at any of the ones I've been to..

wait - wait - i am no expert - i just heard it.....

maybe i am wrong (wouldn't that be great - at least in this instance?? - less $$!)

I never heard of such a thing. The only gifts handed out at the RD is BP, readers, parents and any other family member getting a gift.

Definately no need for RD favor. That would be going overboard IMO.

I've never gotten a favor at a rehersal dinner either, though I have heard of brides on this site providing favors.

Its definitely an extra, not a necessity.

Aw man, favors for the RD?
I'm giving BP gifts then, I hope we don't have to do favors too

Oh I hope you're wrong!

We are only giving out the thank you gifts...no favors! (But it is a cute idea...... )

I didn't do RD dinner favors either. Geez, you are buying dinner/alcohol, isn't that enough? I guess my guests were neglected!

Re: rehearsal dinner favor thought??

I don't think you have to give favors at your rehearsal dinner....just the bridal party gifts.

Save money wherever you can.

We are not doing favors at our rehearsal. I didnt know that people give favors at the RD. SO, I guess I may not be all up on my etiquette but we are skipping favors at the Rd.

Everyone is getting gifts, I'm not giving favors as well.

our RD was at a Chinese restaurant so I bought the QT size rice containers from them, decorated them and filled them with gum and hard candy so they had it for the wedding day!!

There is no need to give out favors.

I don't think you have to give out favors since you are paying! Man, you could make a nice living as a professional bridesmaid getting all this food and presents!!

RD favors are ridiculous!! That is when you give the BP gifts anyway - favors would be overkill. JMO
