We are having JUST the bridal party and they are getting their gifts from us that night!
We already have enough expenses.. now people are making up reasons to give favors
I dont think its necessary at all - JMO

You're so right ....where will it end?? I just have extra planning time now and am incorporating some additional ideas. I don't want to 'overdo it' though!!

I don't think it's necessary, but if you really want to do it, there's nothing wrong with it at all! It's up to you whether or not you have the time and money to do it!

If you REALLY want to do something like little godivas or something would be cute but definitly dont go crazy!! Look at it this way for every dollar you dont spend its a dollar you can spend on the honeymoon
Or going shopping when you get home!!!
lord knows I will be b/c I havent bought myself hardly any new clothes in TWO YEARS!!!!!

Yes, whenever I have gone to a rehearsal dinner, there were favors. I am still working on getting some favors for mine...

I have never heard of favors at a RD. Ours is just going to be bridal party and our parents, so everyone will pretty much be getting gifts that night anyway.

Well, It's FMIL's thing.. and she wants them..

BUT I agree, I think it's overkill. I just think she wants to make a big fuss, because she feels my parents are being and I quote.'cheap' ..... the woman has no clue...urgh!!!

ETA: She is inviting her family to the rehersal dinner, because they are all OOT guests..

I always add some things that over do it....constantly!!! Sometimes it is cute, sometimes it is a waste of money.

I wouldn't do RD because I too am handing out the gifts that night.

We are giving gifts to our bridal party our readers and our parents. The only poeple that are not getting gifts are my aunt and uncle (FGs parents) and FHs uncle's date. I bought them each a candle in our wedding colors for a dollar at the dolalr store. That is 2.00 total. Not really favors but i didn't want everyone there to get something except for three people.

I think if you have the time and money, they are a nice gesture. We had a lot of OOT people at our rehearsal and I wanted to give them something to thank them for being there, so I made chocolate bride and grooms and wrapped them niceley in cellophane bags and tied it with ribbon that matched our colors and attached a card that simply said thank you. Everyone loved and appreciated them. They went so fast, I didn't even get to keep one myself!!
