Ok girls..here's the situation, I need your advice!
One of my close guy friends is getting married next month. I have since hung out with his finacee but am not close with her because she is almost 10 years older than me and my girlfriends. Nevertheless, I was invited to her bridal shower (cannot go b/c it's my b-day and I already have tickets for a show) and her bachelorette party (cannot go, same day as my family engagement party).
My guy friend called me last month and asked if I would do a reading at his wedding, which was thoughtful and I accepted. Now, I'm also invited to the rehearsal dinner.
Questions: Do I need to bring a gift to the rehearsal dinner since I'm not really in the wedding? Or at the wedding, should I give something more since I am a reader? Or should I send the fiancee a gift since I am missing all her parties?? I did give a nice gift at their engagement party and now I have no idea what to do now.

Re: Rehearsal dinner Gift? HELP!
I could be wrong, but I haven´t heard of the guests giving gifts at the RD. If you want you cand send her a gift for the shower even though you´re not going. A friend of my grandmother´s couldn´t go to my shower but made sure to send a gift. I thought that was very thoughtful and I appreciated the gesture.

I've never heard of bringing a gift to the RD either...but I would send a gift for the shower even if your not going to be able to attend.

i have also never heard of bringing a gift to a rehearsal dinner...i think sending a gift for the shower would be very nice though. Also, as far as giving a bigger gift since you are a reader, i think you should just base it on how close you are with the groom.

Re: Rehearsal dinner Gift? HELP!
you don't need to bring a gift to the rd, however, i would send her a gift off her registry for her shower
as for the wedding gift, i would base it off of what you would normally give at a wedding, and then add some, since it sounds like you're close to this individual
