Rehearsal Dinner Help!

Rehearsal Dinner Help!

Hi girls! So FH and I are having so much trouble planning our rehearsal dinner. Since our wedding is pretty formal, we are hoping to have a rehearsal dinner that is not formal, something fun, casual and hopefully kind of different. Our rehearsal is in Babylon at 7 and we live in Wantagh/Bellmore so we would like to keep it somewhere in this area. We had thought of just a barbeque, but since it's going to be so late and dark it doesn't seem like that would work. I thought Dave and Busters would be fun, but FMIL thinks it's too impersonal. There will be quite a few people, 40 at the minimum so we don't want it to cost too much. Any suggestions?!?

What about Wasabi in Farmingdale? That's a hibachi place. Maybe Viva Loco in Bellmore? Meson Ole in Copiague has mariachi bands on some nights too.

ETA: Last August, we had a night time engagement party with barbeques going and it was fine. We just had the tiki torches and extra lights put up by the bbq. You could always do a clambake too.

what about smokin' al's barbeue joint in bay shore village... that's probably under a 10 min drive from babylon...

then you can have your bbq in a restaurant environment that is casual and fun and more intimate, yet not the zoo of dave and busters (I hate to say, I really don't like D&B...)

We had our RD at The Inn on Main in Farmingdale on Main Street. DH knows the owner of the bar very well, so he really wanted to have it there. The food is great and we all had such a great and relaxed time. It is a casual place (bar/restaurant)

Thanks for the ideas! Would Wasabi be able to comfortably hold 40 of us without breaking up the group?

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Thanks!
