Does anyone have recommendations for a moderately priced restaurant in the Plainview area? We changed the site of our rehearsal, and I'd also like to steer FGs parents in another direction than the restaurant they were thinking of using. It's not close to the rehearsal site and wouldn't be that convenient for most people attending.

I lived in Plainview for 30 years...LOL.
You can do Akbar's on South Oyster Bay Road.
There's Peppercorn's (private room upstairs) in Hicksville by the train station. Good food.
For some reason I'm drawing a blank. I can picture all of them but can't think of names.
What type of food do you want to serve?

Ahyan's Shish Kebab has a private room. I have heard good things about Red Fish though I don't know if that's too pricy.

I live in Syosset and grew up in Plainveiew here are a couple of places however I don't know your price range:
La Viola-syosset had my bridal shower there Laguna Grille ( they have a private room downstairs)-Woodbury Stresa East -Woodbury-expensive but food is awesome Coolfish-Syosset ( one of my favorite restaurants) Shish ka bob- (hey have a room in back semi-private)-Plainview Main Maid Inn- Jericho
That's all of I can think of now that would be appropriate for a rehearsal Dinner..

Thank you for all of your suggestions! I'll show them to FH and we'll share them with his family. We suggested Maine Maid Inn, but his mother thought it was too fancy and too $$. I don't know what they have in mind for this--I don't think Maine Maid is too dressy, though I'm not sure of the prices.

My sister had her reception at the Milleridge Cottage and had their RD in a room at the restaurant. I checked it out for my own RD - the prices are pretty reasonable and they seemed flexible about the packages, etc. And they might give you a better deal since your reception is there.

We had ours at Peppercorn's in Hicksville. It was great. We had our own private room upstairs. They have several different packages priced from about 27-44 a head. Depends on what you get and if you have an open bar. The food was really really good too!!

There's a great restaurant in Westbury about 10 min away. we had our engagment party there, great food, low prices!!! Brindisi

Depending on the number of people you need to accommodate the Library Cafe in Farmingdale has a cute space upstairs with a private bar.
